Estimate what importing goods into the EU costs in CBAM
certificates. Free, nothing stored, all math in your browser. English below the
numbers stays honest — defaults are indicative, your installation data rules.

What this does and does not do. Cost = tonnage ×
embedded emissions × (EU ETS price − carbon price already paid
abroad with proof). Indicative default emission ranges per goods category come
from the transitional-period default values (Commission Implementing
Regulation under Regulation (EU) 2023/956): iron & steel roughly
1.3–2.5 tCO₂/t, aluminium roughly 8–18 (incl. indirect),
cement/clinker roughly 0.6–1.0, fertilizers roughly 1.5–4.5,
hydrogen roughly 1–10 depending on production route, electricity varies
widely. Your own verified installation data always replaces these. The ETS
price moves weekly — use the current auction average. Precursor goods,
free-allocation phase-out and yearly default mark-ups are NOT modelled; treat
the outcome as an order of magnitude, not an invoice. Background:
